Post Exposure Prophylaxis
Post Exposure Prophyllaxis is advocated in case of accidental exposure to HIV, especially in case of health care providers.

Anti-retroviral Medicines are provided to each District Head Quarter Hospital & Medical Colleges for Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), in cases of possible accidental exposure to HIV. 3 types of Antiretroviral Drugs are supplied for each course of 4 weeks (28 days). PEP is to be advised by a registered medical practitioner, and taken under medical supervision.
